Lalmonirhat BSF returns 5 Bangladeshis at Patgram border

The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has returned five Bangladeshis at the Dahagram border in Patgram upazila of Lalmonirhat.
Panbari Camp Commander Subedar Ayub Ali confirmed the return of the Bangladeshis on Saturday (March 22) afternoon.
Earlier, on Friday (March 21) afternoon, they were handed over at a flag meeting at the company commander level of BSF and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) at the zero line of the Tin Bigha Corridor of Panbari BOP of 51 BGB Rangpur Battalion.
The returnees are – Farid Islam’s son Ferdous Farhad Roshni (26), a transgender, from Mirpur area of ​​Dhaka, Anwar Hossain’s son Farid Islam and Hridoy Hasan Sarwar Nurjahan (28), a transgender, from the same area, Moazzem Hossain’s son Hamidul Islam Ria Moni (27), Ahmad Ali’s son Adam Ali (52) and his wife Amina Bibi (42) from Phulbari area of ​​Kurigram district.
According to the BGB, five Bangladeshis, including three transgenders, illegally entered India through the Comilla-Agartala border in 2022. After spending a long time there, on Friday (March 21) afternoon, a patrol team from Omar Camp 6 of BSF arrested them when they tried to enter Bangladesh through the Angorpota border in Dahagram union of Patgram upazila of Lalmonirhat.
Later, the BSF called for a flag meeting to return the detainees.
Last Friday evening, the BSF returned them through a flag meeting at the zero line of the Tin Bigha corridor.
The BSF led the flag meeting on behalf of the BSF, including Sanjeev Kumar, Camp Commander of the 6th BSF Battalion’s Omar Camp.
On the other hand, the BGB was led by Subedar Ayub Ali, Commander of the 51st BGB Battalion’s Panbari Camp, and six BGB members.
Subedar Ayub Hossain, Commander of the 51st BGB Battalion’s Panbari Camp, Rangpur, said that the BSF returned five Bangladeshis through the flag meeting.
