Two days after she went missing in Hatibandha upazila of Lalmonirhat, the body of a housewife named Hajera Begum (50) was found floating in the pond.
The police recovered the body of Hajera Begum from the pond next to her house in Paschim Bezgram area of ​​Tongbhanga Union of the upazila on Tuesday (December 19) afternoon.
Hajera Begum is the wife of deceased Rafiqul Islam of that area.
According to the police and locals, Hajera’s husband Rafiqul Islam drowned in the pond a few years ago. After the death of her husband, Hajera became emotionally unstable due to grief. He was missing for the last two days.
On Tuesday afternoon, locals saw the body floating in the pond near his house and informed the police. Later the police came and recovered the body.
In this regard, Hatibandha Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Saiful Islam said, a case of death has been filed after the recovery of the body of Hajera, who was mentally unstable. Legal action will be taken after talking to his family.
