A student named Ayesha Siddika Ankhi (20) died after being hit by a train in Kaliganj upazila of Lalmonirhat.
The accident took place in the Adarshpara area of Tushbhandar upazila around 1 pm on Thursday, May 30. The deceased is the daughter of Alamgir Hossain Alam of Kashiram village of Ankhi upazila. He was an honors 2nd year student of UP College, Kaliganj.
According to the sources of Lalmonirhat Railway Police Station, the local train bound for Lalmonirhat leaving Burimari on Thursday afternoon was cut off by the Ankhi train while entering Tushabhandar station. However, the local people could not say anything about the incident whether it was an accident or a suicide.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kaliganj Police Station Imtiaz said that the police were sent to the spot after receiving the information. Further action will be taken subject to investigation.
