Deputy Commissioner Md. Amirul Kaiser has come to visit the house of Comilla Laksam Nawab Faizunnessa.
He visited the house (now a museum) at around 12:30 pm on Saturday (February 8). He was welcomed with flowers by Md. Fazle Rahman Chowdhury Ayaz, a descendant of the Nawab family and a social and political figure.
During the visit, Comilla Deputy Commissioner Nawab Faizunnesa toured various artifacts kept at the museum. Later, he toured the surrounding area including the meeting hall built by Nawab Faizunnesa Chowdhurani, mosque, college and Faizunnesa’s grave.
At that time, Fazle Rahman Chowdhury Ayaz, the heir of Faizunnessa Chowdhury, presented the book “Roop Jalal” written by Faizunnessa to the Comilla Deputy Commissioner.
During the visit, he said that he would take necessary measures to remove the illegally constructed wall at the eastern gate of the museum in response to the demands of the local people. He also assured cooperation in the renovation of the mosque built by Nawab Faizunnesa Chowdhurani.
Present during the visit of the Comilla Deputy Commissioner to the Laksam Nawab Bari Museum were Laksam Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Md. Kausar Hamid, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Sifatun Nahar, Officers-in-Charge (OC) of the police station Nazneen Sultana, Museum Superintendent Anwar Hossain, Political figure Moniruzzaman Monir, Eminent Journalist M.S. Doha, Former President of Laksam Press Club Md. Abdul Quddus, Convener of the Press Club Monir Ahmed, Member Secretary Faruk Al Sharah, Senior Journalists Mashiur Rahman Selim, Zafar Ahmed, Abdur Rahim, Selim Chowdhury Hira, Abul Kalam, Shah Nurul Alam, Nazmul Hasan, Zahid Hossain, Monir Hossain, Kamruzzaman Riyad, etc.
