On April 3, at around 8 pm, a team of the army and traffic police conducted a vehicle search at Laksam Bypass, and found 3 pieces of Yaba on the driver of a bus coming from Noakhali, Parvez Jomaddar (28).
At that time, Parvez Jomaddar was in an intoxicated state after consuming drugs, according to sources. The Laksam Upazila Nirbahi Officer, in coordination with the army and police, formed a mobile court and fined the accused Parvez Jomaddar Tk 500 and sentenced him to 6 months in prison.
The convicted Parvez Jomaddar is in the custody of Laksam Police Station. The duty officer of Laksam Police Station said that he will be sent to jail through the court on the morning of April 4. The Bangladesh Army has been playing a strong role in resolving traffic congestion on Laksam Bypass since before Eid. The army plays a leading role in traffic congestion relief, law and order control, and drug recovery operations.
