An allegation has been made that the autorickshaw driver was hijacked and the driver strangled to death in Laksam On Wednesday (September 4), police recovered the mutilated body of a young man named Md Shahjahan (18) from the abandoned staff quarters of the Laxam Health Complex.
It is known that on Tuesday (September 3) evening in an abandoned staff quarter of Laksam Upazila Health Complex, the local residents found an unidentified half-melted body with a cut throat. Later on receiving the information, the police reached the spot and recovered the body at 9 pm and brought it to the police station The body was sent to Comilla Medical College Hospital for post-mortem on Wednesday morning
In the meantime, the police confirmed the identity of the body
The deceased’s name is Shahjahan (18) son of Abdul Hannan of Kashipur village in Bipulasar union of neighboring Manoharganj upazila.
Officer-in-charge (OC) Sahabuddin Khan of Laksam police station said that the police went to the spot after receiving information in the evening. Although the body was recovered, no one could identify the identity. He had cut throat and head injuries. He was wearing black three-quarter pants and a black shirt with a pistol emblazoned on the back.
On Wednesday morning, Shahjahan’s father Abdul Hannan and mother Nurjahan Begum came and identified his body.
Abdul Hannan, father of the deceased, said that on Monday (September 2) morning, Shahjahan went out with a battery-powered autorickshaw and went missing.
At this time he demanded exemplary punishment for his son’s killers.
In this incident, the father of the victim filed a murder case against unknown accused at Laksam police station on Wednesday.
Comilla Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (Crime) Ashfakul Islam and Assistant Superintendent of Police (Laksam Circle) Soumen Majumdar visited the spot.
Laksam Police Station Officer (OC) Shahabuddin Khan also said that police along with a team of CID and a team skilled in information technology are working to identify those involved and bring them to justice.
