Sports Desk: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) season started in Rawalpindi on Friday. Rishad Hussain’s Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United faced each other in the opening match. Although Lahore did not keep Rishad in the playing eleven for this match.
However, Lahore Qalandars lost to Islamabad in a low-scoring match. Islamabad United made a good start to the PSL by defeating the Lahore team by 8 wickets.
Lahore Qalandars lost to Islamabad for 139 runs after losing the toss at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. In reply, Islamabad reached the target by losing 2 wickets in 17.4 overs (with 14 balls in hand).
Lahore lost in this way mainly due to Jason Holder’s bowling. He took 4 wickets for 26 runs in 4 overs. The Caribbean cricketer was also the man of the match. Besides, Shadab Khan also created a whirlwind illusion and took 3 wickets.

He scored 66 runs off 38 balls. The second highest 23 runs came from the bat of Sikandar Raja. In the end, Lahore were all out after scoring 139 runs in 19.2 overs.
Islamabad did not suffer much despite losing the wicket of opener Andris Gauss in reply. Another opener, Sahibzada Farhan, was dismissed for 25 runs. Colin Munro and Salman Ali Agha did the rest of the work. Munro remained unbeaten on 59 runs off 42 balls and Agha Salman remained unbeaten on 41 runs off 34 balls.
