Akram Hossain Babu, chairman of Kushtia Modern Plywood and Wood Processing Company Limited, received the honor of the highest taxpayer for the third consecutive time. Bangladesh National Board of Revenue awarded him the highest value added tax payer (manufacturing sector) for the third time. Md. Abdul Hakim, Commissioner of Benapole Custom House, handed over this honor to Akram Hossain Babu, Chairman of the organization at a ceremony organized on the occasion of National VAT Day and VAT Week 2023 at Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate, Headquarters, Jessore on Sunday, December 10, 2023. He said to the journalists, ‘Those who collect revenue, they should think – how to increase involvement with the people, motivate the people to pay revenue. For that the officials have to mix with the people. There is some fear among people about taxes and VAT. This fear has to be removed. Customs Excise and VAT Commissionerate Jessore Commissioner Moazzem Hossain presided over as a special guest and the founder president of Tourism Resort Industries Association of Bangladesh Khabir Uddin Ahmed was present. Incidentally, Akram Hossain Babu, chairman of Modern Plywood and Wood Processing Company Limited, has managed to establish himself today by conducting business with integrity. The products manufactured by this company are recognized as number one across the country. He has been awarded the Best VAT payer award for regularly paying VAT in the revenue sector of the government. Due to this institution, employment has been created for many people in the surrounding area. More than one thousand people are directly and indirectly involved here. Akram Hossain Babu, a prominent businessman and young entrepreneur, is involved with various social organizations.
