Kishoreganj in Pagla Mosque 9 donation boxes of received 28 sacks of Tk

After 3 months and 26 days in tight security 9 iron donation boxes of historic Pagla mosque located on the banks of Narsunda river in Kishoreganj district town have been opened.

The donation boxes were opened on Saturday (August 17) morning. There are 28 sacks of Tk. About 350 people, including students of Madrasa Orphanage located in the mosque complex, participated in counting the taka.

At 8 am, the donation box was opened in the presence of Brigadier General Tariqul Islam, Deputy Commissioner of Kishoreganj and President of Pagla Mosque Management Committee Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad and Superintendent of Police Mohammad Russell Sheikh.

Additional District Magistrate Mahua Mumtaz, Pesh Imam of the mosque Mufti Khalilur Rahman and Rupali Bank Assistant General Manager (AGM) Rafiqul Islam, members of the mosque management committee including Anwar Parvez and a group of 220 people including teachers and students of the madrasa and orphanage located in the mosque complex participated in the counting.

On April 20, 9 donation boxes of Pagla Mosque were opened. At that time a record 7 crore 78 lakh 67 thousand 537 taka was obtained. All previous records were broken and new records were created. A team of 220 people participated in the counting of money for 18 and a half hours. A large amount of foreign currency and gold ornaments are also available in the donation box.

Deputy Commissioner and President of Pagla Mosque Management Committee Mohammad Abul Kalam said that initiatives have been taken to construct the mosque as a beautiful Islamic complex. The cost of construction has been estimated at 115 crores.
