A mail train Nakshikantha bound for Khulna on Rajbari’s Goalundo Ghat-Khulna route derailed in Fakirpara area of Daulatdia. As a result, train movement is closed on that route.
The coach derailed on Monday (August 28) around 1.30 pm. Rajbari Railway Station Master Tanmoy Kumar confirmed that there was no casualty in the incident.
He said that two coaches of the train along with the engine are standing at Rajbari railway station. After the rescue operation of three coaches of the train is over, the entire train including those coaches will leave from Rajbari railway station for Khulna. Meanwhile, after the incident, the relief train went and started work to rescue the derailed train.
On the other hand, a satal train leaving from Poradah bound for Goaland Ghat is reported to be stuck at Panchuria station. The train will leave from that place for the purpose of cremation again after getting instructions from the authorities. The rescue operation is going on till the last news.
