A sit-in program was held at Khulna University on the initiative of teachers to demand the creation of a party politics-free educational environment, a discrimination-free society and a corruption-free Bangladesh. The sit-in program was held at Hadi Chatwar of the university on Monday afternoon.
At this time, the speakers said, people of this country have repeatedly struggled and given blood for freedom, against injustice, against discrimination. Through the liberation war in 1971 against the foreign dictatorship, the country became independent at the cost of an ocean of blood. People thought they would be freed from exploitation, deprivation, corruption, looting. But they were not released. The dictators of this country have repeatedly established oppression, torture and dictatorship on the people of this country. People have been made slaves. Truth and justice were not allowed. They said that the people of this country have repeatedly shed their blood against domestic autocracy – to establish an exploitative and non-discriminatory society. But they have been cheated again and again. Their blood has been insulted. For the same purpose, recently again the students of this country have struggled and given their blood. A new sun has risen in this country today in exchange of hundreds of lives.
The speakers also said that the people of this country do not want to cheat anymore. They want a non-exploitation, non-discrimination enlightened Bangladesh, a golden Bangladesh. Everyone should come forward to build a bright Bangladesh. Everyone has to work from their own position. Laws should be properly reformed to establish justice in every sector of the country. Taking advantage of the weakness of the law, arrangements should be made so that no group can establish misrule and dictatorship. Everyone should pay what they deserve. In order to establish a non-discrimination society, a corruption-free Bangladesh, everyone has to work from their respective positions. Educational institutions should be freed from the black claws of party politics and ensure a fair environment for education. Only then this country will be enlightened Bangladesh.
Professor of Agrotechnology discipline spoke. Md. Yashin Ali and Professor of Environmental Science Discipline. Md. Abdullah Yusuf Al Haroon. The teachers of different disciplines of the university participated in this program. At the end of the sit-in program, a rally was taken out on the campus.
