Khaleda Zia going to London for better treatment

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s personal physician Professor A ZM Zahid Hossain said that the process of taking her abroad has started.

Dr. Zahid Hossain said this while talking to reporters on Tuesday (October 29).

He said, “Khaleda Zia will first be taken to London in a long distance specialized air ambulance for advanced treatment.” After that, he will be taken to a multidisciplinary medical center in a third country.

Dr. Zahid Hossain said, “Depending on Madam’s physical health, we have started the process so that we can quickly take her to a multidisciplinary hospital abroad. As part of this we have started working to hire Long Distance Specialized Air Ambulance, communication is in progress. First Madame will be taken to London. After the stay there, the multi-disciplinary medical center will be taken to the country where it is located.

He also said, we hope that madam will be able to go abroad soon after completing all the work.

When asked how Khaleda Zia’s physical condition is now, Professor Zahid said, ‘Alhamdulillah. Madam Gulshan is under the full-time supervision of the medical board as before. You can say that his condition is stable.

He said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also sent a letter from his office regarding the fact that Khaleda Zia will go abroad for treatment as a former Prime Minister. Because it has been informed that relatives including doctors and nurses will go with madam.

According to the information, BNP chairperson’s liver has to be replaced. It has only two centers in the United States. Specialist doctors have also been contacted there. The 79-year-old former prime minister is suffering from various complications including liver cirrhosis, heart disease, lung disease, arthritis, kidney disease and diabetes. He had to be treated for a long time by the medical board consisting of specialist doctors, keeping him in the ICU at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka.

The doctors said that Khaleda Zia will be taken abroad in such an air ambulance, there should be all kinds of medical assistance. Currently there is a four-hour short-distance air ambulance, which takes patients to Singapore, Thailand. But doctors have also discussed with some countries that have 14-hour long distance air ambulance to London.

An expert medical board headed by Cardiologist Professor Shahabuddin Talukdar of Evercare Hospital is engaged in the treatment of Khaleda Zia. In addition to expert doctors of the country, there are cardiologist Dr Zobaida Rahman, wife of acting chairman Tariq Rahman from London, and some doctors from the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia.
