Kalbela’s PC Dash receives Nelson Mandela Peace Award 2024 for special contribution to journalism

Shekhar Piyush PC Das, staff reporter of Daily Sunamganj Khabar and correspondent of Daily Kalbela Shalla (Sunamganj) has been awarded the Nelson Mandela Peace Award 2024 for his special contribution to voluntary journalism.

On Saturday, October 19 at 4:30 p.m., at the Central Museum Kavi Sufia Kamal Auditorium in Dhaka, the guests presented the crest and certificate to PC Das after reciting the reception ceremony on the occasion of World Girl Child Day organized by the SAARC Cultural Council. PC Das has previously received the Special Contribution to Journalism Award from UK Channel Ace Television. He has been doing courageous journalism for a long time with reputation. Currently, he is serving as the President of Shalla Press Club with reputation.

In the meeting, awards were given in 5 categories including the country’s best journalist, businessman, teacher, imam, precious mother. Awarded to 8 people across the country in journalism, one of them was PC Das.

Supreme Court Justice Faisal Mahmud Faizi was present as the chief guest in the meeting, Rezabudaula Chowdhury, the former president of the Central Intelligence Agency, Ferdous Ara, National Nazrul Sangeet artist, ATN Bangla advisor Tashiq Ahmed and the representatives of India and Nepal included in SAARC were present as special guests.
