Joypurhat District Correspondent: On December 22, RAB arrested two people with 60 kg of marijuana while smuggling it in a mini truck in a unique way in Joypurhat. They were arrested from the Buttermore area of the city on Sunday morning. A RAB press release gave this information in the afternoon. The arrested are Shipon Hossain, son of Joynal Abedin of Mireswar area of Munshiganj, and Naeem Karar, son of Abdul Alim Karar of Moricha Kanda area of Debidwar upazila of Comilla. RAB said that the arrested Shipon is the mastermind of an identified drug trafficking syndicate. He used to collect drugs from the border area of Comilla and sell them wholesale in different parts of the country through his associate Naeem. RAB conducted a raid in the Buttermore area of Joypurhat in the morning on a secret tip-off that a large consignment of drugs was being smuggled. During this time, two people were arrested with 60 kg of marijuana hidden in a plastic drum under a rubber mat on the floor of a mini truck.
