Today Motorcycle driver Maruf Hossain (22) was killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a motorcycle in Joypurhat.
The accident took place on Saturday in Bhadsa Panditpur area of ​​Joypurhat Sadar Upazila on the Joypurhat-Badalgachi road. A person named Apel Hossain (21), who was on the motorcycle, was seriously injured. He was rescued and admitted to the District General Hospital.
The deceased was identified as Maruf Hossain, son of Mintu Hossain of Kochnapur village in Joypurhat Sadar Upazila. The injured was identified as Apel, son of Mizanur Rahman of Bhagwanpur village.
Locals said that the two friends, Maruf and Apel, were going towards Paharpur from Vadsa Bazar on a motorcycle. At that time, Apel was talking on his mobile phone. After a short distance, the motorcycle collided head-on with a picnic bus coming from the opposite direction. Maruf died on the spot. Apel Hossain, who was seriously injured in the incident, has been admitted to Joypurhat General Hospital.
Joypurhat Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahed Al Mamun confirmed the matter and said that the driver and his assistant fled after abandoning the bus. Police seized the bus after receiving information.
