Joyful procession for release of labor leader in Muradnagar

Comilla’s Muradnagar Upazila BNP joint convener and Companiganj Transport Workers Union convener Haji Idris has been released on bail in a case filed by police and student coordinators. He was released on bail from Comilla Central Jail on Tuesday evening.

Muradnagar Upazila BNP and its affiliated organizations, along with Malik Sramik Oikya Parishad, held a joyous procession for the release of Haji Idris. The procession started from Nagarpar intersection on the Comilla-Sylhet highway on Wednesday afternoon and ended in front of the Transport Workers Union office after circumambulating Companiganj-Nabinagar road and Muradnagar-Companiganj road. A short rally was held there. Haji Idris Mia spoke at the rally. At this time, other speakers included Sramik Union member secretary VP Selim, Upazila Chhatra Dal convener Khairul Kabir, joint convener Bijoy Nesar, Yasir Arafat, labor leader Zakir Hossain, Bus Owner Oikya Parishad member Wasim, BNP leaders Anwar Khan, Sajjad Hossain and Transport Workers Union member Shafiqul Islam. BNP leader Haji Idris, who was released from prison, said, “If any involvement is found in the investigation of this case, then the party will expel me for life. And if there is no involvement, those who filed this false case and harassment must be tried.”
