Naogaon district representative Shahidul Islam (25) of multimedia newsportal Barta24.com has been a victim of terrorist attack again for publishing news in Naogaon.
On Tuesday (October 22) at 7:30 in the evening, 15-20 people attacked Chakla Bazar area of ​​Sadar Upazila under the leadership of a youth named Nahid Hossain. Nahid is the son of Golam of Bakhtarpur village of Naogaon Sadar Upazila and his accomplice Palash and his father Ukil Mia are residents of Haripur village. Nahid’s other accomplices are yet to be identified.
Locals rescued Shahidul while injured and admitted him to 250-bed Naogaon General Hospital. He is currently undergoing treatment there.

Earlier on October 16 at noon, he was attacked for the first time when he went to collect information regarding the blockade of a new Muslim family in the neighboring village of Gobindpur. Later he published the news highlighting the misdeeds of the attackers. Because of this, it is believed that a second round of organized attacks have been carried out on him.
Shahidul Islam, the victim of the attack, said that on October 16, after being the victim of the first round of attacks, I lodged a complaint with the police station against Nahid and the attackers. After that the attackers went into hiding. When the news about the matter came out, the members of the Nahid force who were hiding were threatening me through various means. Because of this, on my way home on Tuesday (October 22) evening, Nahid and 15-20 members of the cadre force surrounded me from all around Chakla Bazar. After that, they took out different weapons including knives from their pockets and attacked them. Nahid is basically an online gambling agent and is destroying the youth by illegally trading dollars. I demand the quick arrest of Nahid and his other forces.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Naogaon Sadar Model Police Station Noore Alam Siddiqui said that as soon as the incident of the first phase of the attack was known on October 16, a team of Police Station was immediately sent to rescue journalist Shahidul from there. Since then the police was investigating the incident. In the meantime, I have come to know that he has been attacked again in the second round. Everyone involved in this incident will be brought under the law.
