Touhid Hossain Sarkar: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abu Taher Mohammad Masum said that Jamaat must create a mass awakening in the country. Activities must be carried out for Islamic awakening at home and abroad and the invitation of Jamaat must reach every home.
He said, “The people of the country have not yet tested Jamaat, but trust has been built in the minds of the people.” Leaders must acquire the capacity to deal with any situation ahead. Jamaat leaders must earn the trust of the people through their deeds, honesty, prudence and trustworthiness.
Calling for the full deployment of Jamaat’s forces in the national and local elections, he said,
“This election will be very challenging. All parties will participate with all their might, so Jamaat will also have to work with strength and courage.”
He also said, “We must not forget the August 5 reforms. Reforms must be brought everywhere. We have proposed 41-point reforms, of which 11 will be implemented before the elections and 30 will be implemented by the elected government. If these reforms are not implemented, our movement will continue.”
‘Annual Planning Orientation’ meeting
Maulana Abu Taher Mohammad Masum made these remarks as the chief guest at the ‘Annual Planning Orientation’ gathering of ward, union and unit officials organized by Comilla Metropolitan Jamaat-e-Islami on Friday (February 1) morning.
The rally, chaired by Comilla Metropolitan Jamaat Ameer Kazi Din Mohammad, was addressed as special guests by Jamaat Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abul Hasanat Md. Abdul Halim and Central Majlish-e-Shura member and former Noakhali District Jamaat Ameer Maulana Alauddin .
Comilla Metropolitan Jamaat Nayeb Ameer Musleh Uddin and Assistant Secretary Kamruzzaman Sohel also spoke at the rally, which was presented by Mahbubur Rahman, Secretary of the Metropolitan Jamaat.
In his speech as special guest, Maulana Abul Hasanat Md. Abdul Halim said:
1. We must create a collective mass movement of men and women.
2. The invitation must reach the grassroots level.
3. You need to acquire the ability to deal with situations.
4. Those in charge must rise above conventional leaders.
5. The consciousness of ‘Infaq Fisabilillah’ must be created among the people.
6. Service and aid activities should be further increased.
7. We must play a role in creating an environment conducive to state reform.
8. Students, workers and other organizations need to cooperate more.
9. Media and publicity activities need to be further strengthened.
Jamaat’s actions:
- You must be diligent in implementing the plan.
- The invitation must be extended from house to house and from person to person.
- 100% implementation of the unit’s work must be ensured.
- The organization’s activities must be expanded to new areas and important locations.
- Efficient management of the organization must be ensured.
- We must play an active role in staff development.
Jamaat leaders said that the people of the country have confidence in Jamaat, so the party will emerge as a reliable political force for the people in the future.
