Jamaat-e-Islami’s metropolitan leaders visit the fire site at journalist Touhid Hossain Sarkar’s house in Sujanagar

Top leaders of the Comilla Metropolitan branch of Jamaat-e-Islami have visited the scene of the recent horrific fire that broke out at the house of journalist Touhid Hossain Sarkar (Government House) in Ward No. 17 of Comilla Metropolitan.
The fire that broke out around 2 am on Saturday (April 5) caused extensive damage to the two houses of Shamima Begum Gong and Monir Hossain. Initial estimates of the damage are around five lakh taka.
Today, Comilla Metropolitan Jamaat Ameer Kazi Deen Mohammad, Secretary Maulana Mahbubur Rahman, Metropolitan Secretary of the Workers’ Welfare Federation Advocate Zillur Rahman, Office Secretary Main Uddin Sarkar, SM Kalimullah and many other leaders came to inspect the fire site.
Local residents expressed gratitude to the fire service and police administration for the incident. They said that if they had not arrived on time, the damage could have been much greater.
They spoke to the affected families, inquired about their plight, and assured them of their support. The leaders praised the immediate action taken by the fire service and police at this time.
Jamaat-e-Islami said that necessary initiatives will be taken regarding humanitarian assistance and rehabilitation, and called on party leaders and activists from all levels to stand by the affected families.
