International Desk: Israeli forces have killed at least 500 Palestinian children in Gaza in violation of the ceasefire. On March 18, Israel broke the ceasefire agreement and launched a large-scale air and ground operation across Gaza. Not only that, the occupying Israel is continuously expanding its control there.
So far, the Israeli military (IDF) has occupied 50 percent of the valley. This has rendered most Palestinians homeless in their own land.
A UN analysis has shown that only Palestinian women and children were killed in at least 36 Israeli attacks in Gaza between March 18 and April 9.
According to Mahmoud Bassal, spokesman for the Gaza Civil Defense, at least 500 children have been killed since the ceasefire was violated on March 18. Meanwhile, the death toll from Israeli airstrikes in the besieged enclave has passed 50,900.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan strongly condemned the killing of civilians in Gaza, saying, “If this is not barbarity, then I ask you what it is.”
At least 20 people have been killed in Israeli strikes in Gaza since early Friday. The Hamas-controlled Health Ministry said 1,542 people have been killed since Israel broke the ceasefire on March 18.
A statement said at least 50,912 Palestinians were killed and 115,981 others wounded in Israeli bombardment of Gaza. However, the enclave’s state media office said the total death toll had risen to 61,700. It is feared that those buried under the rubble are also dead.
