On July 15, Suma Begum (35)-named victim has filed a case (CR Case No- 509/24) in Moulvibazar Senior Judicial Magistrate No. 1 Amli Court as a woman plaintiff in the case of establishing physical relations by promising marriage in Moulvibazar. The learned court took cognizance of the complaint and directed the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to submit an investigation report. According to the case filed in the learned court, a woman named Suma Begum (35) was identified with Syed Shibbir Ali (40), son of Syed Bashir Ali of Durlabpur village of Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila. Syed Shibbir Ali has a business called Uttara Diagnostic Center in Raj Bhavan, opposite the Model Police Station in Moulvibazar. On behalf of the owner, Suma Begum used to collect rent from the said center and other tenants. She was living with her children as her husband had abandoned her. Using that opportunity, he established a close relationship with her and executed a commitment deed dated 01/11/2023 to the effect that he would get married very soon. Promises to provide maintenance and 02 century land and tries to explain that it is a marriage document. Their marriage was solemnized by the said document. Moreover, he gave a false assurance that he would execute the reg. Kabin Nama later. According to the complaint, it is also known that after renting a house from the previous address of the victim to the present address, he cohabited on 20/06/2024 and Syed Shibbir Ali accepted Tk 2 lakh in cash by talking about giving business shares to Uttara Diagnostic Center. In the said situation, when the victim woman went to his business establishment Uttara Diagnostic Center on 05/07/2024, he scolded her saying that she has no relationship with him, not even her husband. At this time, Syed Shibbir Ali also said that he has married another place, so it is not possible to have any more relationship with him, the victim woman burst into tears. When asked about this, Syed Shibbir Ali said – the complaint is not correct. The woman has several other connections. Moreover, the issue of Suma Begum that happened to me was resolved through a former officer-in-charge of Moulvibazar Model Police Station. Niamul Haque, a learned lawyer for the plaintiff, said that the victim is a simple woman. He filed a case in the learned court for justice. The learned court took cognizance of his complaint and directed the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to submit an investigation report.
