Police arrested inter-district robber Sardar Monir Hossain with gold and money in Laksam of Comilla. He was arrested from Kaitra village of Bakai South UP on the night of Gavi on Wednesday, November 22. The arrested dacoit is son of deceased Abul Hashem Mia Prakash Ashu Mia Prakash Hasumia of Orishwar Molla Bari of Muradnagar Upazila of Sardar District and tenant of Ah Khalek’s Bari and Lipi Begum’s house of Srinibas Village of Kotyali Model Police Station and Sadar Dakshin Upazila.
According to police sources, on the night of November 13, the plaintiff Abdur Rab (52), the son of deceased Chalamat of Kaitra mosque house in Bakai South UP of the upazila, closed the doors and windows of his house after dinner and went to sleep. That night, the plaintiff and the plaintiff’s niece broke the lock of the collapsible gate of the plaintiff’s residence and entered the house and robbed. The robbers looted one vivo mobile phone, one Samsung mobile phone, two pairs of silver nupurs, cash of tk.55,800/-, gold ornaments of various categories weighing nine tons.
On the same day in the morning when the statement was filed against the anonymous 14/15 dacoits, Laksam Police Station Case No-06, Section-395/397 Penal Code was registered. Inspector of Police (Investigation) Thomas Barua took over the investigation of the case.
Comilla District Police Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police and Laksam Circle Somen Majumdar, along with Police Inspector (Investigation) Thomas Barua, a team of Laksam police station conducted raids in various police station areas with the help of information technology and based on the information provided by spies, fifteen weapons and robbery accused Dakat Sardar Monir Hossain (47) ) was arrested. According to the information given by him, Ujjal Hossain Prakash Billal Hossain (40), son of Tota Mia, son of Barakamta Swarnakar para of Devidwar police station of the district was arrested from Chandina police station area of Comilla district.
30,000/- cash in cash from the custody of dacoit Sardar Monir and a gold measuring instrument recovered from the custody of accused Ujjal Hossain, a habitual criminal who deals in dacoity goods. According to the information given by him, six bags of looted gold ornaments were recovered from a shop named Nishita Jewelers in Madhya Bazar of Chandina police station.
There are 19 cases against the arrested dacoit Sardar in Laksam, Kotyali Model, Sadar Dakshin Model Police Station 6, Debidwar Police Station 2, Burichong Police Station 2, Narayanganj District Arai Hazar Police Station. During interrogation, the dacoit confessed to robbing Monir’s several houses and the highway. The said accused has admitted responsibility and given a statement in the learned court today.
