Adviser to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Post, Telecommunication and Information Technology has ordered to make mobile network free in flood-affected areas. Nahid Islam.
Mentioning that 10 VSATs are ready in case the network is disconnected once, he said, “Instructions have been given to make mobile network free in those areas.”
The advisor said that the network has been disconnected due to the optical fiber damage in some upazilas due to the current flood situation in the country. There are power outages in some places. There are generators being used. Still, 13 percent of the sites in the affected area are down.
