Indian teenager returned home from Moulvibazar prison

Indian teenager Rohi Das Sarkar came to the border of Bangladesh on June 3 last year because he was proud of his mother. He is the son of Dulal Sarkar of West Gobindpur Village of Kailashahar Police Station, Unkuti Tripura State. Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) detained him. The learned court sentenced the Indian teenager to 3 months and 20 days imprisonment. Even after the completion of the sentence, the teenager was not released from prison only because he was an Indian citizen. When the matter was publicized in a media, lawyer Bibhuti Tarafdar filed a writ in the High Court. The writ also sought a direction to return him. On December 11, after hearing a double bench of the High Court, Rohi Das was ordered to be sent back to India quickly. And on December 14, the High Court bench of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Zeenat Haque issued a verdict for the speedy release of Rohi Das. According to the direction of the learned court, the Border Guard (BGB) handed over the Indian teenager Rohi Das Sarkar to his father Dulal Sarkar and mother Pramila Sarkar through BSF today on December 23 at noon.
