In February this year, Ishan Kishan was dropped from the central contract of the Indian Cricket Board. As a result, questions were raised about the future of this wicketkeeper batsman in international cricket. Even in the T20 World Cup, his name was not kept in the Indian squad.

Gautam Gambhir’s first press conference as the new head coach also did not hint at Ishan’s possible return. However, Ishan may get a chance to return to the Indian team ahead of the squad selection for the Test series against Bangladesh next month.

According to a Cricbuzz report, Ishan is preparing himself for the upcoming domestic season on the advice of the national selectors and has already been included in Jharkhand’s 25-man squad.

Jharkhand State Cricket Association has named Ishan in the pre-season probables list. Last year, Ishan was behind the scenes in the domestic season as well. Did not participate in Ranji Trophy. That’s why the board was on him. BCCI Secretary Jai Shah said that when Indian cricketers are not playing for the national team, all players should play for their respective states.

Another Indian media outlet News 18 reported that this wicketkeeper-batsman will play for Jharkhand in the Buchi Babu tournament. The tournament will start from August 15 in Chennai.

A new report in The Indian Express on Monday again hinted that the Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee might pick Ishaan for the Duleep Trophy, which begins on September 5 and ends on the 24th. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and other Indians can also be seen playing in domestic tournaments.

When the selectors sit down to pick the 15-man squad for the Test series against Bangladesh, the domestic tournament will play a crucial role.

India’s series against Bangladesh will start from September 19 this year. The report added that the selectors want Ishan to restart his red ball career if he wants to make a comeback to the Indian team.

Earlier Shreyas Iyer, who was stripped of his contract for the same reason as Ishan, returned to the Indian team during the ODI series against Sri Lanka earlier this month. Ishaan can also be returned like this.
