Independent candidate Rahim Shahid also lost in appeal hearing in Moulvibazar-3 seat

Election Commission rejected the appeal of independent candidate CIP Mohammad Abdur Rahim Shahid, vice-president of United Kingdom Awami League in Moulvibazar-3 (Rajnagar-Moulvibazar Sadar) seat. Today, on December 11, after the hearing at the Agargaon Election Commission in the capital, his appeal was rejected. Earlier on November 4, a voter who supported him had died 11 months earlier. However, he signed as a supporter. No voter was found in this name at the other supporter’s address. Moreover, independent candidates have acquired dual citizenship. Therefore Moulvibazar District Returning Officer and District Administrator Dr. suspended. Salam urmi bint. In this year’s 12th National Parliament election, a total of 11 people submitted nomination papers for Moulvibazar-3 seat. They are – Awami League’s candidate for boat symbol prominent industrialist Zillur Rahman, independent candidate United Kingdom Awami League vice-president MA Rahim, Jasder Abdul Mushabbir, Works Party’s Tapas Kumar Ghosh, Jatiya Party’s Ruhul Amin and Md. Altafur Rahman, Fahad Alam of Cultural Liberation Alliance, Abdur Rauf of Islamic Front, Mohammad Abdul Qayyum of Zaker Party, Abu Bakkar of NPP and independent candidate Sadeq Ahmad.
