Milad, prayer and discussion meeting was held on the occasion of inauguration of temporary office of Laksam Press Club in Comilla.
On October 26 (Saturday) at noon, Hafez Md conducted milad and doa prayers at the temporary office of BS Tower-2 in Laksam Daulatganj Bazar. Mosharraf Hossain.
After Milad and doa prayers, Laxam Press Club convenor Monir Ahmed chaired and journalist Shah Md. Abdul Qudduch, former president of Laxam Press Club, former vice president Mujibur Rahman Dulal, former joint general secretary Tofail Ahmed, senior journalists Kamrul Islam, Rafiqul Islam Helal, joint convener Arifur Rahman Swapan, member secretary Farooq spoke in the discussion moderated by Nurul Alam. Al Sharah, member Chandan Saha, former finance secretary Nasir Uddin Chowdhury, journalist MSI Jasim, Tamiz Uddin Chunnu, Khalilur Rahman Majumdar, Jamal Uddin Swapan, Masud Parvez Roni, Abdul Jalil, Nazmul Hasan, Md. Zillur Rahman, Nazmul Islam, Amjad Hossain, Saiful Islam etc.
The journalists said that Lalsam Press Club was established in 1985 and continues to work in Laxam as a non-political and professional journalists’ organization. It is a larger organization to protect the freedom and rights of journalists. A convening committee has been formed at Laksam Press Club. The convening committee will form a new committee through free and fair elections in a democratic process within two months by convening the members and promulgating the voter list. The convening committee is moving forward with this promise. If we all cooperate with this convening committee, they will be able to give us a new committee through a beautiful election according to the constitution, inshallah. We are looking forward to a wonderful new committee. I would like to thank the convening committee for their good planning and for carrying out the activities according to the constitution.
