Inauguration of 66 Infantry Division and Rangpur Area Tree Plantation Program

Taking care of the trees by planting trees, building a healthy generation country” on Thursday, Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed, SBP (Bar), OSP, NDU, PSC, PhD inaugurated Bangladesh Army’s Tree Planting Campaign-2023. All army cantonments, DOHS and Jalsindi were centrally connected through VTC during the said inauguration ceremony. As a part of this, Major General Sakil Ahmed, SPP, BGBM, NSWC, AFWC, PSC, GOC 66 Infantry Division and Area Commander Rangpur Area participated in the 66 Infantry Division and Rangpur Area Tree Plantation Campaign-2023 in “Senanid” area located in Rangpur Cantonment. At this time, senior army officers of Rangpur cantonment, all ranks of army personnel of various units, civil officers, employees and teachers and students of schools and colleges were present. Simultaneously, activities of tree plantation campaign-2023 also started in other stations of Rangpur area. In the tree planting campaign-2023, saplings of various types of beautifying trees including fruit, forest and medicinal trees will be planted. This tree plantation program will be implemented in all stations of Rangpur area which will continue till 05 September 2023. About 10,000 fruit, forest and medicinal tree saplings will be planted in Rangpur area this year. The purpose of this tree planting program is to encourage everyone to plant trees on their own with the aim of increasing the forest resources of the country and protecting the ecological balance.
