Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said that the World Ijtema will be held on time. At the same time, he said that none of the perpetrators of violence will be spared.

He told reporters after exchanging views with officials on law and order and the overall situation in Munshiganj on Thursday (December 19) afternoon.

The advisor said that an investigation into the violence during the Ijtema is underway. Both Saad and Zubair were with us in the press briefing. The criminals must be punished. They will not be given any mercy. They will be suppressed with a strong hand.

Stating that the police are ready for any situation and election, the Home Affairs Advisor said that about 185 (police members) have not joined work, this number is negligible. The remaining police members are in working condition. In addition, there are other armed forces. There are RAB and BGB. There will be no difficulty in dealing with any situation, including the election.

Munshiganj Deputy Commissioner Fatema Tul Jannat, Superintendent of Police Shamsul Alam Sarkar and officials of the district and police administration were present at the meeting, among others.
