Bangladesh Muktijudda Manch Kushtia district branch organized a protest march and human chain to protest the terrorist attack on Asian Television Kushtia staff reporter and publisher-editor of Daily Satyakhabar newspaper Hasibur Rahman Riju and the vandalism of his motorcycle. On Friday (June 21) at 5:00 PM, the protest procession organized by the Kushtia district branch of Bangladesh Muktijudda Manch started from the Kushtia Municipal Square and ended at Thana Junction in the city. After that, the protestors made a human chain there for an hour. Exemplary punishment was demanded for those who attacked the human chain. Meanwhile, Kushtia Additional Superintendent of Police Palash Kanti Nath and Kushtia Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sheikh Sohail Rana, along with a large number of police members, were present there. The senior journalist assured that all those who brutally attacked Riju will be brought to justice after seeing the CCTV footage and taking this as an important case, all those behind it will be brought to justice.

Bangladesh Muktijudda Manch Kushtia District Branch President Nazrul Islam Pradhan, General Secretary Lion Arif Khan, seriously injured senior journalist Hasibur Rahman Riju’s wife Topi Biswas, Sadar Upazila Muktijudda Manch General Secretary Khandkar Ahsan Habib Vidyut and others spoke in the protest march and human chain program. In addition, the president of Kushtia district branch of freedom fighter’s son and generation, Senior Journalist Md. Habibur Rahman, General Secretary Slogan Master Sheikh Md. Shubheen Akhter, General Secretary of Kushtia Press Club KPC Sohel Rana, General Secretary of Journalists’ Union Kushtia Mahmud also spoke declaring solidarity in the protest march and human chain. The speakers in the protest march and human chain said that they strongly demanded from the administration that those involved in the barbaric terrorist attack with the intention of killing senior journalist Hasibur Rahman Riju should be arrested and exemplary punishment should be ensured. The administration was also urged to come forward to protect the journalists. The seriously injured senior journalist Hasibur Rahman Riju is the president of the Central Committee of India-Bangladesh Youth Friendship Council. At the same time, he is serving as the vice-president of the central committee of Bangladesh Muktijudda Manch. Also involved in various socio-cultural organizations in the area. Incidentally, the attack on Hasibur Rahman Riju was carried out due to the publication of the news in the newspaper and a previous dispute when the local influential Shipon of Shaldah area of ​​Hatsh-Haripur Union insulted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Facebook. Hasibur Rahman Riju became the prospective president candidate in the management committee election of a local school. On Wednesday (June 19) afternoon, he was going to Haripur Bazar area on a motorcycle to participate in the election meeting. On the way, a few Rijus led by local influential Shipon, Murad and Rajan hit different parts of the body with sharp native weapons. He was lying on the spot bleeding for half an hour. The attackers did not allow anyone to come to the scene. Later, after the attackers left, the locals rescued him and took him to Kushtia General Hospital. From there he was admitted to Dhaka Trauma Center for advanced treatment. Now he is undergoing treatment there. On Thursday (June 20) evening, Topi Biswas, the wife of the injured journalist Hasibur Rahman Riju, filed a case against 25 to 30 people, including names of 16 people, at the Kushtia Model Police Station. In this case, the police have arrested one accused No. 16 named Babar Ali.
