A human chain was held in Rajbari in protest of police attack on teachers in front of Dhaka Shiksha Bhaban, demanding MPO membership to 3,500 Honors-Masters teachers who are regularly working in private colleges affiliated to National University as per the rules and by special order of the Chief Adviser.
On Thursday (October 24) at 10 am in front of the Rajbari Press Club, this human chain was organized by Bangladesh Private College Honors-Masters Teachers Federation Rajbari District Branch.
Private College Honors-Masters Teachers Federation Rajbari District Branch President Shah Mujtaba Rashid Al Kamal, General Secretary Md. Kawsar Hamid, Honors-Masters Teachers Federation Dr. Abul Hossain College Branch General Secretary Alamgir Hossain, Dr. Abul Hossain University College Bengali Department Teacher Md. Saiful Islam spoke.
Selina Parveen, Trishna Dutta, Shrabani Kar Dulal Chandra Karmakar, Sabia Marine, Syeda Yasmin Rubia Parveen, Sirajul Islam, Md. Salim Mia and other teachers were present in the human chain.
The speakers in the human chain said that 3500 Honors-Masters teachers working regularly in 495 private MPO-affiliated colleges have been kept without MPO for the past 32 years due to political anger, which is an example of extreme discrimination. However, the third rank teachers of the degree post can be included in the MPO even if there is no policy. Those teachers who have no MPO for a long time in the market of high commodity prices are inhumane with their families.
They are living their lives. Therefore, they demanded that the Honors-Masters teachers of private colleges should be included in the MPO immediately. Apart from this, the leaders condemned and protested the police attack on the teachers participating in the demand gathering program in front of Dhaka Shiksha Bhaban. After the human chain, they handed over a memorandum to the chief advisor through Rajbari District Commissioner (Acting) Siddharth Bhowmik.
