The teachers formed a human chain in Gazipur to protest against the assault of government secondary school teachers by officers and employees of the Sesip project at Dhaka Shiksha Bhaban and to demand speedy promotion/posting in various vacant posts in the government secondary department.
The human chain was held in the presence of teachers of Rani Vilasmani Government Boys High School and Joydevpur Government Girls High School on Rajbari Road in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Gazipur city on Wednesday (September 18) noon.
Abu Zafar Muhammad Saleh, Asaduzzaman, Abdul Matin Miah, Nachreen Anjuman Runi, Raihan Uddin, Jasim Uddin, Md Rubel Miah and others spoke in the human bond under the chairmanship of senior teacher Syed Aminul Ehsan and moderated by senior teacher Mohammad Mokhleshur Rahman Chowdhury Tutul.
The speakers in the human chain demanded the punishment of the attacker on the teacher in Dhaka Shiksha Bhaban so that similar incidents do not happen again. Besides, they demanded speedy promotion/promotion to various equivalent posts including assistant teacher, senior teacher, upazila secondary education officer, assistant head teacher, assistant district education officer, head teacher, district education officer in various vacant posts of the government secondary department under the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education.
Rani Vilasmani Government Boys High School Principal Md Akhtar Hossain Mia expressed solidarity with the human chain.
