Human chain demanding arrest of 20 accused including UP member in Rajapur, Jhalakathi

A human chain and protest have been held demanding the arrest of the accused in the case filed against Babul Mridha, a daily wage worker, in the Narikelbaria Club area of ​​Rajapur, Jhalakathi, for vandalism, looting of property, arson and assault on them.
People from different walks of life participated in an hour-long human chain at the Narikel Bariya Club area of ​​the upazila on the Barisal-Pirojpur highway on Thursday (December 26) at around 11 am. The victim’s family and local residents organized the human chain.
At that time, Shuktaghar Union BNP President Md. Rezaul Karim Rezwan, former UP member Abdul Quddus, teacher Md. Mostafizur Rahman Zakir, Tamanna, Irani Begum, Md. Mizan Rahman Mridha, Sujan and others spoke at the human chain.
The speakers said that even though four days have passed since the case was filed, the police have not arrested any of the accused in the case so far. The accused are roaming around in public and are constantly threatening the plaintiff to withdraw the case.
The speakers also said that local UP member Sobahan and his son Touhidul Islam Chan are identified terrorists in the area. They have not committed any such misdeeds in the area with their forces. Several people in the area have been attacked by them. Therefore, the speakers demanded their immediate arrest, bringing them under the law and exemplary punishment.
Rajapur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Ismail Hossain said, “If we can’t find the accused, how can we catch them? The accused have been absconding since the case, and efforts are ongoing to arrest them.
