Huge amount of phencidil recovered from India-Bangladesh border

The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) recovered 3,333 bottles of banned Phencidyl and 17 cattle from the India-Bangladesh International Border area in North 24 Parganas and Malda districts of West Bengal. According to BSF, on October 29, the soldiers of 5th battalion from Angrail border outpost received a tip-off that Phencidil was being smuggled into Bangladesh. Based on that news, the Quick Response Team (QRT) searched the specific area and recovered 1,500 bottles of Phensidyl. Besides, BSF recovered 1,200 bottles of cough syrup from Dobrapada and Tentulberia outposts and 330 bottles from Rajanagar outpost. In separate operations, 12 cattle were recovered from border areas of Pannapur and Agra and five more from smugglers in Nimtita. The seized Phencidil and the cattle have been handed over to the concerned authorities through due process of law. After e-tagging of the cattle, they will be transferred to Dhyan Foundation.
