Home Affairs Advisor Lt. Gen. Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (retd.) has given strict instructions to BGB (Border Guard Bangladesh) members to keep themselves away from corruption.

The advisor gave this instruction while speaking to senior officials of BGB at the border conference center of BGB headquarters in Pilkhana of the capital this morning.

Corruption will not be tolerated under any circumstances, the advisor said. Strict disciplinary action will be taken against those involved in bribery and corruption. If necessary, they will be fired. He said, BGB has to work according to the law.

Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (retd) said that the main responsibility of BGB is to protect the border and prevent smuggling. He urged the BGB to perform their duties professionally. Noting that we do not want to see more killings like Felani, the adviser said, do not show your back at the border. Fulfill your responsibilities.

BGB Director General Major General Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui along with senior officials of BGB headquarters and all BGB Region Commanders, Sector Commanders, Battalion Commanders and other officials were present through video teleconference (VTC).
