Interim Government Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (retd.) today visited the Border Guard Hospital to see BGB members and students undergoing treatment injured in the anti-discrimination student movement.
During the visit, the advisor personally spoke to the injured BGB members and students and inquired about their treatment. He gave instructions to the BGB Director General to ensure better medical care for the injured.
In response to the questions of the journalists present after the visit, the advisor said that the treatment environment of BGB Hospital is very beautiful. Renowned doctors are providing world class medical services here. He said there is a high risk of infection spreading through visitors. For this reason, in order to avoid infection, the adviser advises visitors including journalists to visit the hospital less.
It may be noted that in the recent anti-discrimination student movement, 03 BGB members were killed (out of them 02 were working in RAB) and 130 BGB members were injured. Among them, 15 seriously injured people have been treated at Dhaka Border Guard Hospital and currently 04 BGB members are undergoing treatment. Also, 19 students from other places including students of Bir Shrestha Noor Mohammad Public College and Bir Shrestha Munsi Abdur Rauf Public College who were injured in the agitation and people of various professions are under treatment at the Border Guard Hospital. Earlier 03 students have been provided medical care.
