During the Eid holidays, the normal service delivery program of all the Mother and Child Welfare Centers not affiliated with the Pirojpur District Family Planning Office, including the Union Health and Family Welfare Centers, will continue.
The Ministry of Public Administration announced a 5-day holiday in advance for the holy Eid-ul-Fitr on March 31. In line with that, the Eid-ul-Fitr holiday began on March 29. But the day before the scheduled holiday began, March 28 (Friday) was a weekly holiday. At the same time, it was the holy Shab-e-Qadr holiday. As a result, the holiday began on March 28.
According to the previous announcement, the offices were supposed to open after the Eid holidays on Thursday (April 3), with the next two days being weekly holidays, namely Friday and Saturday. Since April 3 is a holiday by executive order, government officials and employees are enjoying nine consecutive days off from March 28 to April 5.
Although government officials and employees are enjoying a nine-day holiday, all the Mother and Child Centers and Union Health and Family Welfare Centers affiliated with the Pirojpur District Family Planning Office, like the rest of the country, have continued to provide services as usual.
On the ground, it can be seen that health and family welfare centers in various unions are providing patient care programs in the same way as on other days during the Eid holiday.
When visiting some union health and family welfare centers in Pirojpur Sadar Upazila, it was seen that various patients came to seek services even during the Eid holidays. When we talked to them, they said that we are getting healthcare even during the Eid holidays. For this, we express our gratitude to all those associated with these health centers. Because if the health centers are closed during Eid, then if a person suddenly falls ill or if a mother/sister falls ill, they will be delayed in getting services immediately, but we did not have to go through that rush. We came here and received good treatment.
This activity of providing services to patients can also be seen at various health and family welfare centers in other upazilas of the district.
When talking to a health worker at the Kalakhali Union Health and Family Welfare Center, he said that this Eid, people from different parts of the country come home to celebrate Eid with their families, and if someone suddenly falls ill, this health center is the only way to provide initial care.
Considering all these things, we have continued this activity under the instructions of our higher authorities.
In this regard, Assistant Director of Family Planning Office Pirojpur Dr. Hongsupati Sikder said, “We are providing services to the public in accordance with the government’s instructions because if the common people get medical care by sacrificing our little pleasure, this is our joy and satisfaction. We enjoy the joy of Eid by serving the public and we want to continue providing this service.”
