Head of Russia’s nuclear security forces killed

International Desk: A Russian general in charge of the country’s nuclear security forces has been killed in the Russian capital Moscow. He was killed when a bomb hidden in an electric scooter exploded on Tuesday. Russia’s Investigative Committee reported this information. Reuters reports.

The Russian general, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, was serving as the head of the country’s nuclear, biological and chemical security department. He was killed outside an apartment building on Ryazansky Prospekt.

The Russian Investigative Committee said that Igor Kirillov, the head of the radiation, chemical and biological security forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, and his assistant were killed in the bomb attack.

Russia’s radioactive, chemical and biological defense forces are known as RKHBZ. Meanwhile, Ukrainian security forces have claimed the assassination of Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov as their success. Even various Ukrainian media outlets have said that the country’s security forces killed the Russian general.
