Handover houses with land to landless & homeless on occasion of Mujib Barsha by Hon’ble PM

Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the house transfer program with land to 78 landless and homeless families in Barura, Comilla. Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Mehedi Hasan, Upazila Women Vice Chairman Kamrun Nahar Shikha, Upazila Health Officer Dr. Kamrul Hasan Sohel, Upazila Health Officer Dr. Agriculture Officer Md. Nazrul Islam, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Md. Shahin Hossain, Upazila Animal Resources Officer Dr. Nasreen Sultana Tanu, journalists, administration officials, civil society leaders and beneficiaries were present. Sabrina Afrin Mustafa, the journalist’s Upazila Executive Officer, said that on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, 25 houses in the first phase, 138 in the second phase, 104 in the third phase, and a total of 267 houses have been given to the landless and homeless people along with the 2nd century land settlement documents. He also said that by constructing barracks on khas land, a single house has been constructed with 2 percent khas land settlement. 78 families of Adda, Adra, and Payalgacha Unions of Barura Upazila have been handed over houses along with land in the third and fourth phase of Asharyan Project-II. Each house will have two bedrooms, a kitchen, a toilet and a balcony. Besides, every 10 families have a deep tubewell system for drinking water. He also said that priority has been given to beggars, disabled, widows, husband deserters, and elderly people in this big event. Barura Upazila Executive Officer Sabrina Afrin Mustafa said Mujib year is an extraordinary event. This is the first and only event in the world. I do not know the precedent of making so many houses together without money. Through this project Mother of Humanity set a precedent in the whole world. There are two benefits here. Government land has been freed from illegal encroachments and government land is being used for public welfare.
