Day labourer, auto rickshaw driver Md. Rajan Mia was subjected to inhuman torture by tying his hands, feet and face to a tree in Madhyasthan Janaura-Karaitla village of No. 6 Ashidron and Sindhurkhan Union of Srimangal Upazila and later made a false confession and made the video viral on social media. On the initiative of the local residents, a human chain and protest meeting was held at Sindhurkhan Bazar on August 31 at 3 pm to demand that those involved be brought under the law quickly.

Dulal Mia (Father of victimized Rajan), Helal (Elder brother of victimized Rajan), Kadio Mia, Mahibur, Parvez, Helal (Kath Masturi), Dulal, Sharif, Young Business Entrepreneur Hafiz, Zafar, Dulal Mia, Eshwad Mia and Jalal Mia etc. The speakers said – Rajan’s own younger brother Masum Ahmed Mamun accused day laborer Rajan Mia of stealing, deceased: Shafiq Mia, son of Nuraj Mia, Jewel Mia, son of Idrich Mia of Janaura, Karaitla village, Sheikh Jasim, son of Jitu Mia of Srigao village. Masum Ahmed Mamun (25), son of Md. Dulal Mia of Jana Uda village, died: Shafiq, son of Nuraj Mia. Mia (35), Janaura, Jewel Mia (30), son of Idrich Mia of village Karitla, Sheikh Jasim Uddin (40), son of Jitu Mia of Srigaon village-Gong filed a case (case no-369/2024ing) against 10/15 unidentified persons. . The learned court took cognizance of the case and directed the PBI, Moulvibazar to investigate and submit a report.
