Potters are busy making idols in Goland of Rajbari. They work day and night to create Goddess Durga with their skillful hands. People are making the mandaps with the sweetness of their hearts. There are only a few days left for Durga Puja, the artisans are busy painting the idols.
It is reported that a total of 23 puja mandaps will be built in this upazila. On the same day, coming simultaneously on 20th October, Durga Puja will start from 4th Kartika on Friday and will continue for 5 days and will end on the 10th day.
The surface has appeared. In various temples of the upazila, potters are doing the perfect work of making idols. The artisans are making Goddess Durga by mixing the sweetness of the heart perfectly. In some temples, the work of making the structure is going on, and in some, the clay work is going on.
Potter Amal Das said, We three people have been working on the idol for two months now. This year I have made 16 idols, now I am just painting them. 8 more idols are left to paint. What we use to make idols is bamboo, iron, clay, straw, husk, etc.
President of Daulatdia Pujamandap Shri Ranjit Kumar said, I have been honorably serving as the president of this Pujamandap for 25 years today. Like every year, we hope that the idols of our pujamandap will be more beautiful and better than all the pujamandap of the upazila. As long as I live, I will fulfill the duties given to everyone with respect.
Swapan Kumar Majudar, officer in charge of Goaland Ghat police station said, especially Durga Puja is coming before the national elections. On the occasion of Puja, all kinds of measures will be taken by the police to maintain law and order. Any kind of disorder will be dealt with. So that Sanatan Dhamambambis will be supported in celebrating religious festivals.
