Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry Secretary Nasreen Jahan said that the security system of machinery installed at Osmani International Airport Cargo Complex is very strong. Many of its ingredients are better than Dhaka. To ensure optimum utilization of cargo complex.
He said these things in the speech of the chief guest in the discussion meeting with the stakeholders related to the extended cargo complex of Osmani International Airport at the circuit house conference room in Sylhet today, December 03.
Stating that this cargo complex with modern facilities is ready to serve now, the secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism said that due to the demand of Sylhet’s products in different countries, the cargo complex was constructed at Osmani International Airport, but since 2022, only two products have been sent experimentally. Commenting that it was created with hope from the people of Sylhet, he also said that there was a strong demand from the people of Sylhet for its construction, but it was not implemented as it was supposed to be in these four years.
Secretary Nasreen Jahan said, Sylhet people have to implement it. Only then the opportunity to export other products including agriculture and cottage industry produced in Sylhet will be created. Government is always ready to provide all assistance at the policy making level. Pointing out that we should think about the reality without being overly optimistic, he said, if the packaging warehouse is done here again, there is a need to check the feasibility of launching a complete cargo service so that it does not get left behind. The government will make all arrangements if it gets a commitment to export as per the demand.
He assured the participants that the next decision will be taken by discussing the recommendations of the meeting.
