A motorcyclist named Nurmohan Akter Nuri was killed in a collision between a bus and a motorcycle in Goalanda, Rajbari. The motorcyclist was injured in the incident.
The accident occurred on the Dhaka-Khulna highway in front of Jame Mosque and Eidgah Maidan in West Ujanchar Ramzan Matabbar Para No. 2 of the upazila at around 9 pm on Thursday (March 20).
The deceased was identified as Nurmohan Akhter Nuri (18), daughter of Abdul Barik of Khadem Rajbari village under Shajahanpur police station in Bogra district.
The injured motorcyclist is Rahul (20), son of Hanif of Bhabdia village in Barat union of Rajbari Sadar upazila.
Locals said that a Sakura Paribahan bus (Dhaka Metro-B-114886) hit a motorcycle from behind on the Dhaka-Khulna highway in front of Jame Mosque and Eidgah Maidan in West Ujanchar Ramzan Matabbar Para No. 2 of Goalanda Upazila. A woman riding the motorcycle died on the spot. And the motorcycle driver was rescued by locals from the scene in a seriously injured condition and taken to the Upazila Health Complex. When his condition deteriorated there, the doctor on duty quickly transferred him to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
Aladipur Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Shamim confirmed the matter and said that the Sakura transport has been seized. The driver and assistant have fled. Further legal proceedings are ongoing.
