The general meeting and elections of the Greater Cumilla Samity Dhaka have been held.
At the ceremony on Saturday, January 11, the Election Commissioner announced a 99-member executive committee (2025-2026) with the unanimous consent of the members present, with Senior Secretary Planning Commission member Dr. Neyamat Ullah Bhuiyan as president (Cumilla), Advocate Abbas Uddin as general secretary (Chandpur), and Shamsuddoha Sarwar (B. Bariya) as treasurer.
A decision was taken to publish in the newspaper the names of a ninety-nine-member full-time committee, with four people from Chandpur, four from B. Baria, four from Cumilla North District and four from Cumilla South District for the post of Vice President, for a total of sixteen people.
In the general meeting, the general secretary of the association, Dr. AKM Faruk, read the report of the general secretary and the conference preparation committee member secretary Lion Mostafa Kamal presided over the program. Senior secretary Planning Commission member Dr. Neyamat Ullah Bhuiyan, former secretary former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia’s APS Engineer Abdul Matin Khan, BNP executive committee member Advocate Rafiq Sikder, former VP of Chaksur Advocate Jasim Uddin Sarkar, Advocate Abbas Uddin, Additional DIG Md. Fayezul Kabir, BNP chairperson’s press coordinator journalist Shamsuddin Didar, MA Qadir Sikder, MA Khan Jewel and other leaders spoke at the program. Lion Sheikh Farid Uddin conducted the program.
