Municipal Administrator and Executive Officer Mizanur Rahman inaugurated different vegetable markets at 7:30 am on Monday, December 2, at 7:30 AM, organized by Galachipa administration for the sale of agricultural products produced by marginal farmers at fair prices in the Galachipa Officers Club ground.
Among others present at this time were Upazila Agriculture Officer Arju Akhter, Chairman of Sadar Union, Mr. Jahangir Hossain Titu, President of Press Club, Md. Khalid Hossain Milton, journalist Mu. Zillur Rahman Jewel, President of the Upazila Press Club. Hafiz Ullah, prominent businessman Haji Monir Hossain and people from various professions.
Meanwhile, talking to various buyers, it is known that they welcomed the initiative of the upazila administration and thanked the upazila administrator for being able to buy vegetables at a lower price than the market.
Executive Officer Mizanur Rahman said, the current price of vegetables is beyond the purchasing power of middle class and low income people. We have talked to various farmers and they will directly sell their produce here. Upazila administration with the help of brothers of marginal farmers has built a vegetable market for them next to the Upazila Officers Club, in which farmers brothers do not have to pay any rent or rent. If necessary, arrangements will be made to transport their agricultural products. As a result, every consumer can buy fresh vegetables from this market at a very affordable price.
