A freedom fighter’s Free Friday School changed the lives of hundreds of slum dwellers. He gave shelter to slum dwellers who grew up neglected by society in his drawing room with utmost compassion. He named it ‘Free Friday School’. His aim was to spread the light of education and give a different life to slum children.
In the last 17 years of effort, he has given literacy to thousands of slum children, many of whom are now working in large and medium corporate business houses.They are living an educated and dignified life after their days of living dependent on labor.They have found a different meaning to life.
The slum families live in dilapidated shacks in the big buildings on Hatirpur, North South Road in the capital.A veteran freedom fighter witnesses the misery of slum children who grow up surrounded by violence, fights, and squabbles every day. The sensitive-minded man is worried about the future of children who grow up in neglect. He started teaching slum children in the drawing room of his ancestral home on a Friday in 2017. Since then, this freedom fighter has spent his leisure time with slum children to spread the light of education.He took an innovative and unconventional initiative to make them interested in education, and the lives of thousands of slum dwellers have changed last 17 long years.
In a country where education is not delivered as a right in the life of citizens, the great initiative of freedom fighter Mr. Solaiman to spread the light of education is a unique example of inspiration.
