A free medical camp and free medicines were provided at Harishpura Kamal Hossain College in Barura, Comilla, under the initiative of Barura Janakalyan Samity and with the help of Barura Upazila doctors.
On December 25, 24, medical services were provided to about 4,000 patients at Harishpura Kamal Hossain College under the supervision of more than a hundred doctors from different departments throughout the day. Free medicines were provided to all the patients by the Janakalyan Samiti. On Thursday, Janakalyan Samiti will conduct circumcision and cataract surgery on 50 eye patients at some private hospitals in Barura and at Alekhachar Eye Hospital in Comilla, said the organization’s general secretary Md. Abdus Samad.
Manindra Kishore Majumder, president of the Barura Janakalyan Samity in Dhaka and former joint secretary of the Ministry of Roads and Bridges, said that the Barura Janakalyan Samity in Dhaka has already organized several free medical camps in Barura Upazila. In continuation of that, the organization has organized this at Harishpura Kamal Hossain College. Prominent philanthropist and social worker Md. Kamal Hossain has sponsored this free medical camp. Therefore, on behalf of the Janakalyan Samity, I would like to thank Kamal Hossain. I would like to especially thank Professor Dr. Ruhul Amin and the Doctors Forum for coming to the area in the midst of such a busy schedule and for giving a lot of time to the Janakalyan Samity’s call.
The sincerity of the locals and the cooperation of local journalists impressed everyone present at the Public Welfare Association.

At that time, Upazila Executive Officer Nu Emong Marma Mong, Upazila Assistant Commissioner Bhumi Ahmed Hasan, Police Station Officer-in-Charge Kazi Nazmul Haque, former Barura Upazila Chairman Md. Hafiz Ahmed, Upazila BNP General Secretary Syed Jahirul Haque Swapan, Professor Farhadul Islam, Abdul Momin Patwary, former MP Zakaria Taher Sumon’s private secretary Md. Moazzem Hossain Kallol, Adra Union Chairman Rakibul Hasan Limon, Comilla District Volunteer Party leader Md. Sohel Parvez, along with most of the leaders of the Barura Janakalyan Samity in Dhaka, and leaders of various social organizations were present at the free medical camp.
