The fourth founding anniversary of the daily Muktir Haalei was celebrated on Monday afternoon at the conference room of the Diploma Engineering Institute (IDB) building in Kakrail, Dhaka.
The event was presided over by the newspaper’s editor and publisher Kamruzzaman Joni, and was inaugurated by BNP’s former information and research secretary, Rezabuddaula, at the National Executive Committee.
World-renowned poet and environmental scientist Jahangir Alam Rustom was present as the chief guest. Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury, president of the central committee of Bangladesh Editors Forum and editor of the daily Amadar Bangla newspaper, Lion Noor Islam, president of the National Journalists Association and chairman of Bhokta TV, Alo Asmaul Hosne, president of Shariatpur District Women’s Party, Md. Omar Faruk Jalal, editor of the Daily Present Time, A. Yusuf, convener of the Bangladesh Shramjibi Karmajibi Peshajibi Oikyajote, and eminent writer Kalam Fayez were present as special guests. Md. Delwar Hossain Bhuiyan, executive editor of the Daily Muktir Haalei newspaper, delivered a welcome speech at the event.
