Four-day Hill Fair and Youth Festival 2025 celebrated in Dhaka

On Wednesday afternoon, January 29, the Hill Fair and Youth Festival was inaugurated by Ambassador (Retd) Supradeep Chakma, Advisor to the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, Muhammad Fauzul Kabir Khan, Advisor to the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, and Md. Nahid Islam, Advisor to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, at the Chittagong Hill Tracts Complex on Bailey Road in Dhaka by cutting the ribbon and releasing balloons. Traditional flutes and musical instruments were played during the event. Later, the Mangal lamp was lit. After the inauguration of the fair, the advisors visited the stalls of the fair.

In the second part of the fair, the Bangladesh Football Federation of Chittagong Hill Tracts’s SAF winner Kriti footballer Rituparna Chakma, goalkeeper Rupna Chakma, Monika Chakma, international referee Jaya Chakma, national boxing champion boxer Sukrishna Chakma, triathlete (Ironman) Rajesh Chakma were felicitated.

Advisor to the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Ambassador (Retd.) Supradeep Chakma, Chairman of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Refugee Resettlement Task Force Sudatta Chakma, Chairman of the Bandarban Hill Tracts District Council Professor Thanjama Lusai, Associate Professor of the Department of English, AIUB Baren Lal Tripura, Special Envoy of the Chief Advisor on International Affairs (Advisor Rank), Secretary (Routine Responsibilities) of the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Dr. Rashida Ferdous ndc spoke at the discussion session. Later, the visiting guests enjoyed a pleasant cultural program.

At that time, Foreign Affairs Advisor Md. Touhid Hossain, Home Affairs Advisor Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Advisor to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Primary and Mass Education Advisor Professor Dr. Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar, Religious Affairs Advisor Dr. A.F.M. Khalid Hossain, wife of the Advisor to the Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Nandita Chakma, chairmen of the 3 district councils of the Chittagong Hill Tracts, government secretaries, senior officials and representatives of domestic and foreign organizations, as well as officials of the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs were present.

Incidentally, 83 stalls have been placed in this four-day fair initiated by the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs. The fair will run from 9 am to 10 pm on February 1. Traditional and enjoyable cultural programs from the three hill districts will be held every evening from 9 pm to 9 pm.
