Abu Naser Yahia Sharmin, a son of Barura, Comilla and Vice Chairman of Al Arafah Islami Bank, has passed away. Innalillahi…….Rajiun. He passed away at Dhaka United Hospital at around 2 pm on Tuesday (December 31). He was 54 years old at the time of his death. The matter was confirmed by Barura Upazila BNP Publicity Secretary Moazzem Hossain Kallol.
It is learnt that he suddenly fell ill on Tuesday afternoon. Shortly after being rushed to Dhaka United Hospital, the doctor declared him dead. His death cast a shadow of mourning over the entire Barura. The family has not yet informed about the location and time of the deceased’s funeral. This afternoon, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and other BNP leaders expressed their condolences and grief to the family of the deceased.
On behalf of the Barura Upazila BNP, the organization’s General Secretary Syed Jahirul Haque Swapan expressed his condolences and grief to the deceased. He said that Abu Nasher Yahya was a community-minded person who used to take action on various problems of the people of the area, especially in Adda, Adra, Payalgachha and Lakshmipur union areas, with his help, more than a hundred people received assistance from this family as card holders. In addition, his efforts to rehabilitate helpless families in any part of Barura Upazila were appreciated, so on behalf of the Barura Upazila BNP and its affiliates, we pray for the forgiveness of his soul.
He is the younger brother of Zakaria Taher Sumon, a former member of parliament from Comilla-08 (Barura) constituency and the employment affairs secretary of the BNP Central Executive Council. The first namaz-e-janaza was held at the Gulshan Azad Mosque in the capital on Wednesday after Zuhr and the second namaz-e-janaza was held at his Armana Group Factory after Maghrib. The next day, Thursday at 10 am, the third namaz-e-janaza was held at the Barura Central Eidgah Maidan with the participation of thousands of devout Muslims.

Shah Alam, prominent bankers Shahnur Alam and Rezanur Rahman Reza, the program was conducted by Md. Zakir Hossain, convener of Barura Municipality Volunteer Party.
On this day, leaders of all branches of the Upazila BNP and allied organizations, as well as the people of Barura from all walks of life, participated in the funeral. The fourth funeral of the deceased was held at the Fazil Madrasa ground in his village, Sonaimuri, and the burial ceremony was completed in the family graveyard.
